After the release of Hulk Hogans first sex tape, Jimmy Kimmel has surprised us again with a pixelated version of yet another Hogan sex tape. These are not only weird, but something no one should ever have to see, thanks Jimmy.
The new “Donut Burger” breakfast sandwich of California-based burger chain Slater’s 50/50 adds up to a whopping 790 calories, according to the LiveStrong calorie counter. The sandwich contains a beef patty and egg surrounded by two glazed donuts, which adds up to a whole lot of working out on the day you choose to eat this breakfast of champions.
To burn 790 calories you would have to run for one hour and 45 minutes, or ride a bike/walk briskly for 2 hours and 40 minutes. A “Donut Burger” can be purchased for $9.95, which isn’t your most valuable or healthy deal considering the alternatives; such as the black forest ham, egg and cheese sandwich from Subway for just $5.00.
The truth about carbs: If you have any experience in the world of fad diets, you have most likely heard of “The Atkins diet”. For the those of you who do not know, The Atkins Diet makes carbs look like the black plague of food, that will also make you fat. Now, years after this diet has been around, there still seems to be some negative connotation associated with carbs. Well, NEWS FLASH: carbs are vital for bodily functions and provide necessary nutrients!
The brain uses the glucose that comes from carbs, for it’s primary source of energy. Without it, the consequences of having low blood glucose levels, are dizziness and fatigue. Being in a state like this your usual work-out routine, might start to seem like torture tactics, because you just simply do not have the energy. I do not know about you, but something about feeling like that, just is not very appealing.
It would be nice to get a compilation of facial expressions of those who watch this video. I thought that the pinnacle of ridiculous workout equipment was reached with the Shake Weight, but that turned out to be a springboard into another ridiculous fitness apparatus. Like to ride horses? This is the motion that the mechanism relies on (even thought it looks much more suggestive and hilarious than that), attempting to focus on the abs and leg muscles of the body. The Koreans have outdone themselves with this one. Is this comically bizarre to you as well? Or are you able to make out a sliver of some fitness worth within this concept?
Appetite vs Hunger. The difference between the two is; appetite is a desire for food and hunger is the physical need for food. Let’s discuss what is actually going on, with the body, during these two events.
If you cannot recognize the difference between the two, this is likely why your waist size keeps increasing. Simple solution? “Listen to your body, and stop eating so damn much!” Hunger can be tamed by eating a sandwich. Appetite; on the other hand, keeps your hand dipping in the Lays chip bag after the sandwich, and is responsible for that extra baggage around your thighs. Appetite; a conditioned response to the look and smell of food, makes you want to eat four cookies, instead of a cup of steamed broccoli. At this time you need to practice self control!!
“The worst thing I can be is the same as everybody else” –Arnold Schwarzenegger
I wanted to share this with you guys, it’s a saying that I believe in 100%. I try and live my life to a high standard that I set for myself, not measuring my goals by others around me. If you have a goal, a dream, a vision, the worst thing you can do is accept your circumstances and just follow the flock.
I have probably heard these things a million times: “Just come out and party for once”, “Just skip a workout for once”, “Just have at least one drink tonight”, “You can have a few cookies, it won’t kill you”
Mastering your Metabolism with Muscle
We hear this word all the time it gets a lot of credit and a lot of blame as well, I am talking about metabolism. Yes, that thing we hate our skinny friends for and the same thing our bigger friends blame their weight gain on. So, what’s the reality behind metabolism? Do I think all metabolisms are created equal? No, I can attest that how I process food is far different than my business partner Ben who stands 6’9 and weights in around 250lbs. To a certain extent I believe we inherit a metabolism type from our parents, however I also believe you can master your metabolism with muscle, yes that’s right muscle.
3 Excuses That Are Holding You Back
Working as fitness professional and dealing with clients day in and day out I hear a lot of excuses from people. You name it I have heard it from house wives, fitness competitors, bodybuilders, athletes and everyone else in between. Today I want to share with you guys the top 3 excises that hold people back from reaching their goals. Think of making excuses like a rocking chair “it gives you something to do, but it doesn’t get you anywhere” if you start focusing on the solution instead of the excuses you will be on the right track.
-An Apple A Day-
A lot of times we get caught up in the hype of all these fancy fruits and berries because we want to be cutting edge, acai this or goji that…what about good old fashion apples?
You know those red things we would all eat when we were kids? If you don’t remember how awesome they were let me remind you why Apples are still one of my favorite fruits –
Consuming an apple before you workout can boost your exercise endurance. Apples deliver an antioxidant called quercetin, which aids endurance by making oxygen more available to the lungs.
Let me come right out and say it, I am not a huge fan of “cardio”, matter of fact I hate a majority of the “cardio” people are doing in your big box gyms out there. Why?
Well, in short walking on an elliptical or treadmill for 60 minutes is boring, time consuming, and often times counterproductive to your fitness goals. Have you ever watched a person at the gym walk on the treadmill for 60 minutes, looks similar to the hamster you had as a pet growing up…..and the hamster wasn’t lean either.
